In September 2017 Artéma produced “Fame – the musical” as another opportunity for our super-talented students on campus to share their passion for the stage with local audiences.
Fame is the unmistakable title of the unforgettable films and television series that have inspired generations of aspiring artists to work hard and sweat blood for fame and success on the stage. This musical overwhelms audiences with the Oscar-winning title track and a variety of other well-known pop hits from the early 1980s.
The production follows the lives of the final-year class of New York’s famous High School for the Performing Arts, from their beginnings in 1980 through to their graduation in 1984. All the challenges, fears, and triumphs – from prejudice to drug abuse – are portrayed with razor-sharp focus, as the young, up-and-coming artists navigate their passion for the performing arts through the worlds of music, drama, and dance.
